Memory is one of the aspects of a computer system unit. It holds data and instructions to the CPU and helps it to work the computer. Something unit assembles the different elements of a CPU together like CPU, input and output devices, input device etc. Besides, several other components such as a microprocessor, an interrupt controller, a timer unit, a status indication unit etc.
